Introducing Ice Vise®

Ice Vise is a professional grade, chloride-free liquid ice melt designed to be applied to high traffic areas around commercial or residential locations including sidewalks, ramps, and steps. Applying Ice Vise during or after a winter weather event will help to deice these surfaces, providing a safer environment for walking. Ice Vice also features a low residue liquid formula that prevents it from being tracked indoors, reducing messes and damage to interior flooring surfaces, especially when compared to granular deicing products.
Ice Vise’s chloride-free formula is the safest ice melt option for interior surfaces.
No Tracking Indoors
A low residue formula helps prevent Ice Vise from being tracked indoors and leaving behind messy and corrosive footprints on interior flooring surfaces.
Professional Grade
Has more ice-melting and penetrating capabilities than the competition. Prevents refreezing down to -4°F.
Safe for Turf and Plants
Ice Vise's chloride-free formula is safe for use around turf and plants. It also doesn’t cause burning or irritation when coming into contact with paws and skin.
Applying Ice Vise After A Storm
For best results, apply when temperatures are at or below freezing point (32°F). Remove snow and loose ice before applying. Ice Vise may be applied with a handheld, backpack, or other sprayer of your choice. Pour the amount required for your area into the sprayer and begin applying. Thicker ice formations may require multiple applications.
Apply Ice Vise Before A Storm
While not the intended use, Ice Vise may be applied before winter storms to help prevent ice buildup.* Ice Vise will not prevent snow accumulation.
Ice Vise can be safely used on the surfaces listed below:
- Brick and stone**
- Wood and composite decking
- Concrete**
- Metal ramps
- Asphalt
*When used before winter storms to prevent ice buildup, repeat or higher volume applications may be necessary. Applying Ice Vise before a storm will reduce the amount of square feet the product is able to cover.
**Do not use on concrete or pavers installed in the last 18 months, structural concrete or specialty stone surfaces such as granite and marble.

To evaluate the effectiveness of Ice Vise liquid deicer, The Andersons research and development team compared its ice melting and ice penetration capabilities to those of two leading liquid deicers.
Figure 1: The Andersons Ice Vise liquid deicer melted 26% and 53% more ice than Competitor 1 and Competitor 2, respectively, at 5°F. When the temperature was lowered to -4°F, Ice Vise melted 36% and 122% more ice than Competitor 1 and Competitor 2, respectively.
Figure 2: Ice Vise liquid deicer also demonstrated better ice penetration per gram of liquid deicer used than both competitor products at 5°F and -4°F.
